Almost everything produced nowadays has some form of electronic control.
At Brittain Consulting, we have embraced this technology and have been involved in numerous and innovative systems, not least of which was a track controlling system for a sporting machine designed to teach skiing and snow boarding. With the violent side forces generated, using a series of sensors it was possible to measure exactly when the moving belt was creeping laterally and at the rate it was moving. In such instances, a control mechanism, for which a patent has been applied, could be actuated before the belt moved significantly enough to be observed. With such horrendous side forces, quite unnatural for a moving belt machine, we believe that we were the first to find a solution for such a radical problem. see: case studies
The electronics for this were not madly complicated but other systems including complicated engine management hardware & software are very familiar to us and we are highly competent in devising solutions for the most complicated application. A recent project managed by Ken can be seen on the EC website in Brussels. This was for the use of new technology in engine management systems and a coveted European FUSE was awarded for its development.
